Our emotional state of being not only affects the reality we create but it impacts everyone and everything around us including our pets.
In recent times a lot has been written about the increase of cancer and stress related diseases in dogs and cats. While much of it is attributed to pet food, in reality it is an indication that those whom we are closest to often suffer as a result of our emotional vibration.
The energy of our thoughts and emotions extends beyond the boundaries of our bodies. It is often palpable and feels uncomfortable as in a room where there is great tension resulting from a discussion. When we are emotionally involved in such a scenario we fail to notice it, but animals who are extremely sensitive involuntarily absorb that tension into their bodies.
In the wild animals have the normal survival stressors and sometimes succumb to disease when their immune system has been compromised by some environmental factor. However, since they live in the present, they do not have the ongoing stress of past experiences and future anticipations generated by the human mind.
Pets on the contrary have evolved alongside us and in the process have absorbed some of our traits. When living in a vibration of constant tension, they begin to show signs of it in their bodies just like we do. I’ve seen it again and again – One dog who lived in the energy of heartbreak, died of a heart attack. Another who got cancer, was immersed in an environment full of survival issues. A third animal developed a skin condition in a climate of constant anxiety. And the list goes on. If you look into your own past with honesty, you might see that too.
Just like for us, nutrition, exercise and rest play its parts in keeping the immune system supported on the physical end and when stressed bringing it back into balance. But if the space in which the animal spends most of its time is continuously in a vibration of stress, sooner or later it too will develop an illness. There are many documented cases where owners and their pets end up with the same malady.
As our modern life becomes more and more hectic and full of self imposed responsibilities and growing discontent, our emotional vibration creates an unhealthy environment for the animals who accompany us. We get sick and so do they.
Conversely creating a vibration of gratitude, which is a vibration of love and well being allows for the body to come back into balance. A pet who lives in that vibration receives these same benefits. Notice that when you are in peace such as when meditating or doing a yoga practice, your cat or dog will often come to lay by your side.
Ultimately you are the one who has to be well in order for your animal to be healthy. While our pets are often credited with helping improve our health and well being, we need to be aware that when we are unwell and out of balance the emotional vibration we emit can be a death sentence for our faithful companion.
So wish you were closer. I’d love to practice yoga w you!
Wish I was closer too! But who knows where the winds of fortune blow me this year…:)
