Moving Beyond the Mind

Science which governs our physical world is the product of our thinking mind. But our thinking mind is very limited because it relies solely on memories of experiences of the past.

We are conceived as blank slates which over time, starting in the womb, are imprinted with all kinds of sensory experiences. Our thoughts and consequently our emotions are the products of this imprinting, our subconscious selves, a mode in which we operate 90% of the time. So we have limited our view of the world to the confines of our mind and in the process we have relegated ourselves to being mere machines that are governed by chemical impulses. A recent loudly promoted read – Homo Deus – approaches the subject of divinity from a purely scientific and very limiting perspective as there is a lot more to this than meets the eye…

Beyond the world of the five senses is a world of wonder. Energy waves of light and sound are pulsating and realities are being created and dissolved, but because we are not attuned to these wavelengths we do not perceive all this within the framework of what we know.

Our physical world is just one of the planes of existence. On an energetic level any physical manifestation exists first as a subtle body which becomes a thought which triggers an emotion. This emotion carries a vibration and projects that into the universal pool of energy attracting experiences that resonate with it. If this emotional vibration is maintained for long enough, entrainment happens. At that moment the vibratory experience that existed in the field of all possibilities becomes manifest.

Thus we attract what we project not only on a personal level but also as a collective, continuously creating our own reality.  Our current health, socio-political and even climate crises are a reflection of our existential crisis. As we realize that what we put out there is what we manifest, we also understand that past trauma needs to be released in order to elevate our vibrational experience. This is happening on a collective level through movements such as No Spiritual Surrender, Black Lives Matter, #MeToo and others. While old paradigms die hard, there comes a tipping point where disfunctional structures collapse and the new order emerges fully. This may happen sooner than we think.

Healing Yoga is a personal tool to release past trauma and the accompanying emotions such as fear, anger, regret or grief without re-experiencing those upheavals on a mental and emotional level. Through the quieting of the mind and its focus on physical sensations which are the manifestation of thought patterns, deeply ingrained beliefs and stuck emotions, the body is rebalanced and reprogrammed. Here it returns to expressing its true nature and the elevated feelings of compassion, gratitude and joy.  The higher vibrations of these emotions move to create more of the same. At the trigger points we have the choice to either continue on the same upward vibrational path or to change directions. Thus we have the ascending and descending spirals of energy and the mood swings that accompany them.

When mind comes into stillness, the higher wisdom steps in bringing everything into balance. In this space beyond the mind we have a deeper understanding of the concept of Oneness and, as we evolve, the world as a whole begins to move into balance and well being.

In our vibrational universe, wishful thinking only works if accompanied by the emotion of that achievement as if it already was happening. This vibratory alignment is the premise of The Secret and of the The Vortex, two of the best known works on the subject.

So, in a nut shell, if you wish to change the world start by changing your  vibration and know that the secret to creating well being resides beyond the mind. Embrace it and step into your own divinity and healing power.

Monika, a transplant from Poland and Brazil, has been practicing and studying yoga for over 20 years. She began her training in 1999 with Edely Wallace, (owner of Yoga Matrix Studio in Orlando, Florida) a yogi master, Yoga Alliance founder and author who studied in Belgium, Brazil and the US and who is at present working with lymphatic yoga research. She went on to study with Ariel Albani, a certified wellness and yoga facilitator and Reiki master. She furthered her studies while on a trip to India, practicing with different Eastern yogis and tapping into yoga as a complete path to wholeness. Monika continues to explore the infinite possibilities of wellness that yoga offers by becoming certified in Yoga Therapy at the Amrit Yoga Institute in 2015 and bringing elements of this therapy to her group yoga practice. In 2016 she was certified in the I Am method of Yoga Nidra and is weaving this technique of stilling the mind into her classes. Her Healing Yoga is a meditative flow of breath guided Asanas focused on quieting the mind and connecting with the Higher Self, in order to identify and target areas of imbalance. It is a gentle but mindful practice done with eyes closed so as to keep the focus within. Practitioners are encouraged to listen to their own bodies and to move with the breath, allowing a slow process of stretching and opening areas of holding in need of healing. Each inhale is mindfully guided to the area targeted by the specific asana. Every exhale is used to release tensions and toxins, balancing and healing spirit, mind and body.
